This seems to be a hot topic these days. Big retailers like Sears and Best Buy laying off hundreds of employees and most feel that it’s the internet that’s to blame.

I just read an HBR Interview with Ron Johnson  that discuss the shift going on in the retail model. Mr. Johnson knows his stuff too. It was him and Steve Jobs that designed the Apple Store just a few short years ago and it’s doing very well. Companies like Apple are succeeding in retail in addition to their online channel so what are they doing differently?

If you have the time, It’s a good read. The article is a Q&A with great insights into the retail sector. It reminded me to always take a fresh look at experiences reimagine them completely.
