Adding Facebook comments to your website blog is easy if you’re using WordPress and use the Facebook Comments WordPress Plugin from 3door digital.
I like Facebook comments instead of the standard WordPress comment system for two main reasons. One, it limits the amount of comment spam you get because people need to post with a Facebook account. Two this plugin gives your readers the option to post the comment to their Facebook profile. This helps market your blog and website which is a welcomed bonus.
Installing the Facebook Comments Plugin
You can find the plugin by searching for it in your Plugins section of your Dashboard. make sure it’s the one by Alex Moss as you see here.
Install the plugin and activate it. Once you do that, you will need to Create an Facebook App and get a App ID key to input into the plugin settings. It’s fairly simple to create a Facebook App. Click on “Create New App” button, name the app something simple like “comments”. Choose your App and click Edit Settings. Ensure you enter your domain in both “App Domains” and as the “Website with Facebook Login” URL. Click on Save Changes to complete the process.
Now you can take the App ID key and enter it into the plugin settings screen.
Read through all the settings and complete what you feel is needed for your website and then save the changes.
That’s it. Now go and check out your blog posts and see that Facebook Comments are loading below your posts.
